i have been doing alot of research on this and it just might be plausible. im not too sure what connector signals are sent for the fit because info on that is quite a bit harder to find.
here is all the info on the bmw air system.
http://www.unofficialbmw.com/images/...20Part%201.pdf

please comment to help us figure this out for the usdm fits. i know sugarphreak would like to make some more power after his odd dyno.

This will not work for the usdm fits. the bmw throttle body has a connector that is two rows of three pins. Usdm fit has a throttle connector of six pins in one row. you could make your own connector if you knew what each pin controlled but im not a wire guy.

I already posted techical information...

http://www.vems.hu/files/MembersPage...n/gaspjeld.pdf

Your link doesn't seem to be referred to DBW TB....

I have to say that I have had to change my injectors (200 cc/min) because only raising pressure wasn't sufficient after fitting it!!!!
The car was lean by 20%....

can you show us more pictures of your engine bay? since the bmx tb pins dont line up for our wiring harness i dont think i will be trying this. glad it works for you though. can you take a picture of the connector slots too?

the edm throttle body is a differant design than the usdm one. i can see how the two plugs are the same. too bad all the l15a motors are not the equipped with the same equipment.

If you want more airflow into the engine, i would only do the halfshaft mod on the stock throttle body... It consist of removing the upper half of the throttle plate shaft... It really helped on the neon so i think it would really help on a modded L15A engine that is in need of more airflow!!

not sure how well this would work on the dbw tb because they seem to be very picky when porting them.

I would think it's more the car's computer that is picky... more airflow = leaner mixtures and the PCM could go wack nuts!! But i think it may be a good idea for somebody who have a throttle controller...

the blitz throttle controller just changes the output signals given from the go fast pedal and does not control the tb in any way.

So it probably could not change the throttle body opening angle in case of heavily modified motors... Apparently our cars PCM back it up a bit when it sense that everything is not ''up to par'' with it's default values... (As with bolt-ons!!)

the blitz controller does not open it wider but rather it opens the tb quicker.

the connector on the usdm fit has six pins in one row. we would have to splice a connector together for ours to work. thanks for the pic.

I removed the throttle from my fit yesterday and actually the inlet seems to be 55mm tapering down to a 50mm butterfly... More then enough for a 1500cc engine reving to a maximum of 6500Rpm IMO... plus, they didn't left a lot of meat on the intake plenum to remove in case you would be putting a bigger T\B so i doubt it would gain power at all but just be a major PITA... as far as throttle response is your prime concern, i would buy a throttle controller instead and do the throttle halfshaft mod to gain some airflow at the upper revs...

The first hindrance to airflow in the fit motor is the stock airbox with it's laughable 44.5mm opening and 10 million resonator chambers... no wonder you gain as much power with a simple CAI or SRI!!

thanks for the information but what does this have to do with throttle bodies?
