Yeah, just checking there. I think all the platforms share the same 5spd Manual regardless of engine size.

on the mfactory website, it says it is strongly recommended to change the diff bearings. do you guys mean buy new stock ones? plz elaborate.

 

Yes, when you change the LSD, it is recommended to change the bearings (2 of them) also. We offer oem replacement bearings at time of order for substantially less than Honda prices

The "way" only applies to clutch type lsd's (i.e Kaaz, ATS, Cusco etc).

It does not apply to Helical LSD's.

 

I recommend to replace the differential carrier bearings also.

 

wat do mean by differential bearings? is that the bearing by the wheel? after the driveshaft boot?

 

i havent installed mine because i have no idea which bearings to get and the guys at the dealership are retarded. anyone have part numbers by any chance??

besides bearings do you need anything else for the install?

 

Well since u're in Vancouver u know how bad the road condition was back in late December til like a week ago. We had white out conditions, soft fresh powder, freezing rain, wet snow w/ice under, extremely slushy condition due to heavy rain after snowy days. I'm really glad that I had my 4.7 final gear & Limited Slip Differential installed & finished my "1000km break-in period" in time before storms hit us.

With the bigger final drive I can stay in higher gear more & still be able to cruise along without downshifting all the times(less wheel spin). And the limited slip differential helped pull me out of trouble many times especially when I turn & one of the wheel hit a lil ice patch around the corner. The other wheel with traction can get me back into the right direction without problem.

Of coz, I drove quite a bit slower than I usually do under such icy & slushy condition. AWD, LSD, TCS etc ain't gonna help u all the time if u drive like an idiot anyway.
