ok so to be able to push 200hp at the wheels from the l15a from what i have gathered here is what you will need:

t1r turbo kit with the greddy ultimate and get the ball bearing version of this turbo
weapon r intake manifold
a custom side exit exhaust at 2.5"
a manual boost controller
j's racing 55mm throttle body

now with that setup theoretically you should be able to hit 200whp without touching the fuel system but that is really pushing it. the fuel pump would eventually fail due to the added stress of pumping more fuel.

i would also just replace the fuel pump with an electric inline pump. that would keep you in the safe.

you looking at spending somewhere around 6 grand for that setup in just parts.
you should probably add another thousand for just tuning and random parts to make it a little safer.

the k swap is a better bet cause your practically starting with 200hp but it will really hurt the handling aspect of the car cause of the added weight to the front.
i think a k swap is in the realm of 8 grand including the motor and all parts needed to swap.

Often I find some members especially from this section of the forum take so much pride in their VTEC-E L15 SOHC. It's like the fastest vehicle they drove is their turbo'd Fit.
What I'm eventually going to do is max out the L15 ASAP. So I get to swap in a built K series. The L15 can't take more than 15 psi. The D series' limit was around there.

^that is very true.

l15 is not here to make mad power. that is what the k series is for.

i will be happy running a turbo. 170hp is just enough for me.

for 6-8k dollars, you can get a turbo'd miata, with a rollbar, seats, and nice wheels. and STILL have a fit as a daily driver

no. the weight ratio of the fit is 69% in the front and 31% in the rear.

with the k swap it would change the ratio to 75/25.

j's racing is the only fit with a good handling k swap fit but it is a track dedicated fit.

The more I think about the L15, the more I realize that some people took the wrong approach with their Fit.

Instead of modding up a L15, the more sensible way is to work on the Fit's drivetrain system.

running a better final drive and an lsd will be the best mods you can do for the fit in the drivetrain.

i have wanted to try get a custom 6 speed from m factory but the cost is not worth it.

yea that (final drive, lsd) and with a close ratio gear. maybe a drop-in air filter. and just maybe with lightened crank pulley, and flywheel. along with some major suspension upgrades but leave the engine STOCK. and maybe some weight reduction.

Just like what Spoon Sports did. That's what I would do if I were stuck with the L15 motor.

There is so much misinformation and just plain stupidity in this thread. First off to the op, you really, REALLY need to do alot of researching. Your knowledge of cars is minimal. I'm not trying to come across as a jerk. There's just alot of reading you need to do. Secondly, I am so sick of the kswapd fit handling bs. If you have a legit suspension setup, it isn't going to make a damn bit of difference. You think the other kswapd hatches, etc. don't have added weight up front? Please... The fit can run with the best of them.

Ok, before this starts again just let me say a quick word.

Some ppl just need to keep their negative opinions to themselves. This is a Honda Fit forum and the majority of the owners here love their car and wouldn't have it any other way, no other car, no other motor. Some prefer to keep them completely stock and other want to change everything out including the motor. To each his own and we shouldn't bash others here, its inappropriate.

If you don't have anything positive to say to support this thread then please do not post in it.

porkchop - to answer your question my mods list is posted in this thread, take a look and let me know if you have any questions.

this.

the handling isnt going to be affected much, if at all.

just look at an H22 swapped hatch. everyone rants about how the h engine sits higher and more forward than a d series or b series, yet people run this engine all day.

THERE IS NO REPLACEMENT FOR DISPLACEMENT.

"if at all"?

really?

that's quite a statement

u should have stuck with "as much"

"at all" is IMPOSSIBLE!!!

of course "ppl run this all day"
ppl smoke crack all day and think it's best thing in the world!!

how many "trophy" winners run this set-up (except drag queens of course)?

of course 99.99% of ppl would not see a handling detriment to a k swap

If you want to go fast:

for 6-8k dollars, you can get a turbo'd miata, with a rollbar, seats, and nice wheels. and STILL have a fit as a daily driver
If you want to save gas, carry passengers, and carry parts for your project car:

Honda Fit

get a turbo. easiest way...t1r or hks. cheapest way...build your own
that will get you 160-180hp.

to break 200, youll need foreged rods/postons and possibly a sleeved block.
