how do I get 200 hp
#42
I would like to say something about this weight distro. talk about how it ruins the handling etc. If this is a street car, why the hell does it matter about the weight distro. I can understand if someone loves going into the bends and all that but for 95% of the drive that you and I do. It does not matter. If we where building track cars this would be different but its not like a 75/25 distro is going to cause the car to not turn.
There are v6 swap now possible with eg and dc chassie cars and you really think that these people car about weight distribution? These are street cars, the most noticiable difference you will see will be changes in roll on acceleration and braking.
Now to the 200hp question, there are now more and more possiblilities to get to the 200hp mark. It really depends on preference and how much you want to spend. Technically a progressive shot nitrous set up can get you to 200hp the cheapest. A K swap is the most expensive and the most labor intensive. You can really mess up your car if you do not do things right and should only be done if you know what you are doing. But you do get a kick-ass engine that can take mods in the future and the car starts with 200hp in the first place depending on tune. Then there is FI, there are kits from T1, HKS and kraftwerks. These will cost just as much a a k swap all said and done but you don't have to worrry about the problems of swaping an engine as with a k20 swap.

ask all the f150 drivers if they care that their vehicle corners like a brick and they will say "i can corner with a hundred bricks in the bed"
if u want to keep the spirit of the fit intact then u should not consider a k swap
if u just want to be creative then do what ever u want to...people have even put v8's in f'n bar stools lmfao
but for the "95%" of driver who can't tell the difference in handling then go spend that 10 grand and buy a faster (in acceleration) used car like any cheapo american v8 or if u want to accelerate better than a ferrari for 10 grand go buy a 1000cc or higher sport bike and go wet your panties with your soul mates

its not like he needs his power curve lenear all the way to 425 since daily driving doesnt call for that much HP in a fit.
IMo that is a perfect DD...lower power when he needs it for better MPG, or power in high RPMs when racing.

Take a giant 2" thick wad of 100$ bills and throw them at your car.... repeat until 200hp is reached

Hey Tony take your time and research. There is a ton of different setups out there you can do. The L15 is a good little motor but it was tuned to be good on gas not high horse, so research is needed but it can be done however you like. Now do me a favor and dont judge this forum on the comments of some dumb people with their stupid comments. This is a place for all to come and help each other out.

Junk out your Japanese clown car and buy a 1959 Studebaker Lark VIII with dual exhaust and 4 barrel carb.... IT cost less than decent wheels and tires plus coil overs for a Fit back when they were new and you could get a Paxton super charger from Studebaker if you knew the right people. If you wanted a swap a Cadillac 390 and 4 speed hydromatic would slip right in and you would have a Studilac.

I don't know, but you could buy an used Civic SI for a lot less money and headaches than would be involved in making a K motor work in a Fit and it would even go around corners very nicely as well..... Don't listen to me, I am an old man that swapped around engines in my cars as often as I wore out women when I was young.... The best thing about coming home from Vietnam in 69 was putting a small block Chevy and Muncie 4speed in an Austin Healey, and finding out that the great pussy drought was over.

no no, you guys have it all wrong. how you get an easy 200hp in a fit is......
go into a honda dealership. they have a special part there that will make you get an easy as pie 200hp. the part number is #s2000. its pricey, but bring that part home, install the fit badges on the s2000 and BOOM! 200hp.
