You would have to get the correct grind thats suitable for your application.the dealer this is through is probably not gonna know that as they deal with audi and vw.

there are 3 different cams for the Fit.
one street
one thats a little more aggressive( race)
one turbo

D-series non vtec d16a6 makes 7-10hp
D-series Vtec D16z6 makes 7-10hp

these are street cams. so it would probably be around the same as the D-series

A guy I work with is actually friends with the importer in Mass. Unfortunately Im going a different route with my car paying it off... putting money toward my racecar. If anyone is really serious about getting the cam Im sure i can talk to a few people

I am surprised that there are no cam grinding businesses around any more. In the 60s and 70s there was an old man with a little shop north east of the warehouse district in down town Dallas that cranked out bump sticks for my air cooled V.W. projects for less than $30.00 a pop. There is surely some one like him still around some where. When I quit riding OHV single and twin cylinder motorcycles I quit doing my own and no way can i stay focussed enough to do a 16 valve single over head camshaft.

Quality Engineered Products Honda 1.5L 16v VTEC

Check this out!!

I think the Grind 2503001 would be perfect on street engines while the Grind 2503002 would be perfect on engines with headwork and an Upgraded ECU to match the RPM possibilities!! They say wou can use stock hardware with them too... So you would'nt need to upgrade the Valvesprings with them!!

Marko!

Welcome to the site!

18hp to what Fit platform (What year/model)? How do you know it adds 18hp and to where does it add it too (The engine? The wheels?). 18hp to the low, mid, high rpm range? Any power lose anywhere in the powerband? Yes, I'm very interested.

Just looked here --> Gude Performance Camshafts I don't see anything for any Fits so I ask. I'm specifically looking for cams for the GK5 platform with primary focus on the topend with no loss on the bottom end (or very little loss in low/midrange with good topend). Will be street driven with weekends at the track. Has to be able to pass emissions.

gude cams and hed pack

This Dyno. shows three levels of tune. Early 2002 equipped with OEM tires, and exhaust, with Vtec. 1.5. The stock power was 90 hp. at the wheels, corrected to fly wheel hp. is 110 at the flywheel,
The Hp. is 108 Hp. at the wheels, with the Gude 220 G profile street strip cam.
We use the same profile on the 2010 and up as the cam is different it can’t be used on the 2009 and under , the 2010 up Hp. Gain is about the same.
we got 115 Hp. at the wheels with our bored throttle bodie and cams.
126 Hp. with the full head package. On stock ECU.
The Good news is this cam will run perfect on OEM valve springs and retainers.
As for the Dyno. reading it was performed on three individual cars as they were in different levels of tune.
We are currently working on getting more power out of the head, and are on the flow bench as we speak, we. looking to get 140 at the wheels, on the street, I tried to attach a Dyno. sheet but this Tex box wont let me Bill

Thanks for the post!

I'll be glad to post up the dyno plot for you if you'd like. Just send it to my email address.

Are you planning on making cams for the 2015 Honda Fit?

Edit: I just called Gude Cams (951-245-7577) and they currently don't have 2015's yet. The gentleman did state if I sent him cams, he's do a grind on them for $520 or so but I'd have to eat the cost of the purchase of the initial cams (or send my stockers in).

There initially was some confusion as he thought the 2015's had the same cams as the '2014s' (There weren't any 2014s). After mentioning the 2015s are DOHC, then the mention of re-grinding cam up.
