Well I installed the IK22's today. After taking the car out for a bit it does seem as though it runs a bit better and likes the IK22's more then the NGK's. will have to drive it a bit more to see if I still get that near stall felling. I just hope to god that I dont go threw the IK22's as fast as the NGK's

I just installed and indexed the plugs today and there is a definite power improvement even on a N\A Fit! There's a hill not far away where i always was topping at something like 130km\h at WOT no matter what... I just topped a 135!! It's not one hell of a gain for sure... but it's only 50$!!

My fit is all stock and automatic too... There is a small power increase with these but maybe the IK20 would be better for a stock or mild N\A engine!

Before the plugs, the car would downshift 2 gears on a hill near home... now it only downshift one gear!

DOHCtor, I have heard of indexing spark plugs so as not to disrupt the flow inside the combustion chamber, not sure if it's the flow of fuel or combustion flow inside, but was told that in can affect how a car runs. I just don't know on how this "indexing" method is done. Care to share on how this is done? Thanks!!!

I put the IK20's in this morning. First I would like to say that the gaping on the original Denso plugs that are long lasting and are bigger than the IK20 were not even close to being gapped right. All 4 of my old plugs were almost .50. When I bought my car 2 months ago I noticed that the exhaust had a slight uneven stumble to it but quickly forgot when i bought it

IK20 install

I had to gap the plugs because they were around .35 so I adjusted the gap to 44. I read on here about about aligning the spark plug in the direction of the intake so that the spark is not impeded by the actual spark plug arm. All 4 old plugs were not aligned to this and you could see a black soot mark where it the plug didnt have a burn to it. I marked my socket extension with a black mark put the spark plug in the socket aligned with the open side of the spark plug and the black mark. I installed the spark plug and tightened it up as close as I could get to the intake manifold. I read on the internet that if your line is between 10 and 2 then you are in the ball park.

So all 4 IK20s are installed and I started up the car. Remember the slight stumble that I had when I bought the car, well it is gone and the outflow from the muffler is a smooth outflow not choppy like before.

So I have a 10 mile commute every day and I do go up several over passes that require the AT to downshift to keep to speed. I can say that the car did not down shift and I was going 65 so you know that I was at low rpms. The car excelerates smoother and when it hits the VTECI do notice that it is stronger by the butt dyno.

Now I have 0W-20 mobile 1 synthetic a stock airfilter and just replaced tranny oil 500 miles ago so no mods as of yet.

I was averaging 31-32 mpg per tank a 40/60 split so we will see with the new tank of gas if it helps in MPG.

Oh for a 07 Fit it took me 25 minutes to change the plugs not bad.

I tried to post a pic but I dont have a url to attach pictures

Update: I have drove my car for over 60 miles now with the new IK20s and I love them. I think positioning the spark plugs so that they are in line with the intake manifold probably helped too. I think Doc wrote something on this so I started to research it and it seems to help to have the spark plugs lined up but I think it just helps to burn more efficiently.

All I have to say is that the Fit runs real nice with that setup.

Gap of IK20 is 0.044 out of the box, so I'm not sure what you did in terms of gapping. It's recommended not to change the manufacturers gap of iridium plugs.

I thought they were pregaped to but they guy at advance auto said to check the gap and I did. They were .35 so I did adjust them to .44 Maybe these were meant for another car being at .35.

I thank Oscar for turning me on to these I love the denso's. Car runs much smoother.
