what can you expect from a Chinese product? Weapon R has factories in Guangzhou. Remember the old one where it didn't have EGR? it was built for the Asian Fit L15s.
the build quality I'd imagine is even worse since they need to chop up some stuff and "make it work" for the USDM Fit in a short amount of time.

go K20. K20 has a ton of choices with American homeland engineering put into it. the stuff you can rely on.
Honda Fit parts 90% are from Asia. it's just not the same.

Subscribed for updates...

Seriously, the stock intake is more responsive and torquey??? What about horsepower? What are the torque curves like on the two?

For the price of this IM, you'd think you'd get something that would last longer than a cheap ebay part would

It sucks to see that happen.

Judging from the pictures, the weld broke due to the it not being centered at the point of were the two pieces meet. It seems as if the person welding that section started to drift up from the joint as they welded it from left to right with the intake opening towards them. Then afterward they started long arching, which reduces penetration, as well as continued drifting up. Regardless of that, the person welding this and/or Weapon R should have caught that flaw.

if this only happened to one person, no need to talk so much $hit about it. i am more than happy with mine. now if it happened to 3 or more people, then thats another story but just because one unit was defective doesnt mean they should be condemned.

yikes!! This is the first time I have seen that happen!
I have been using mine problem free now for a while.

That Injen air intake comes in pretty tight through the stock air port doesn't it?
I wonder if it was putting stress on the manifold everytime the engine moved?

^ That is possible. It's the only point putting stress on the manifold as far as I know.

I wonder if a ETD/stiffy would help prevent this from happening.

This isn't the first case where stress from the engine movement has damaged something,
I know a few other intakes have experence the same problem and broken as well. One that comes to mind
is the H-Fit intake.

If you intake has no where to move and you tighten it right down into that space, something has to give.
The constant forces from movement will eventually stress parts to the point of failure.

^ I also have read a few cases of the A-Spec CAI snapping at the mounting points. I don't know if the issue has been resolved.

I am still curious to see some power numbers on this manifold.

Well I do have the ingalls torque damper and i filled the transmission mount with widow weld and that motor does not move at all, and i hammerd around that port were the intake goes through. As for power holy crap the stock manifold put a smile on my face. When i first got the weapon-r mani the RMP's would take for ever to go up so later on i bought the AEM F/ic and that helped, alot with acceleration and top end which i think the wepon r mani makes the most power at 6k, I have the weapon r race headers that i love so much with 50mm skunk2 exhaust
