Painting Exhaust Question
I am going to paint my muffler flat black and i am wondering if i should scuff up the surface before doing so. If so what should i use to go about doing it?

i did the wheels with flat black, but theyre not very good. when i got new tires, the shop scratched up the paint and it looked like all it took was wrench bumps and the rims resting on the ground.
i sanded the wheels till they were dull and did 2 coats primer 4 coats paint.
i may repaint them sometime, but i would get satin instead of flat, sand it a little better, be more patient, and use clear coat. the flat black has a tendency to look gray.
