Question for all you experienced in this stuff (I'm pretty much a stock type guy lol). Hopefully you won't mind a basic question....

Do CAIs increase or decrease mileage? Is it better or worse for long term reliability of the car? I'm interested in power - sure, for fun but my main concerns are MPG and Reliability.....

Thanks

i have the CAI for over 4 months and loving it. didn't notice any improvement on the mpg since i'm always gunning it but notice an improvement on throttle response over 4k rpm. lowest mpg i've got is 27.8 with premium octane considering about 80percent of the time i'm shifting at 6000+ rpm every gear also downshifting many time.did that for 2 full tank w/same octane and company and the mpg is about the same.going put a 1.6" front and 1.9" rear lowering springs running on 15x6.8 rims and 205x50x15 KUMHO AST tires, the questions is should i worry about hydro lock when the raining season come?
