I read somewhere that Honda recommends keeping the stock airbox due to the VTEC engine. I think it's either a posting somewhere on this forum or it's on the Honda service manual.

I know I've seen that Spoon recommends keeping the stock air box. Their drop-in is pretty pricey at about $117 from Bulletproof. Here's the link with the description of why it's important to keep the stock air box.

Of course they recommend keeping the airbox and buying their filters. If they were a little cheaper, maybe ...They are just WAY overpriced. I think you are paying $100 for SPOON name and $20 for the filter. K&N will be putting out a drop in soon I am sure , probably be around $50 and with a lifetime guarantee you cannot beat that. I would stick with the CAI...If you had the choice of the two.

Well if the Fit sounds as good as the Civic SI with a CAI then I'm definately going to get one for sound alone!! Rode in my friends one today...WOW. That car both hauls ass and makes the most enjoyable intake sounds I've heard in a long time!
