I spent close to that much for a cold air intake when I first got my Fit in 2006... I shouldn't have been so impulsive and quick to make the purchase and just did what many here on Fit Freak did and buy the hoses pipe, clamps and filters at an auto parts store or on Ebay and put together a short ram type intake... That is what I ended up with after a collision with a thrown tire tread from a big truck destroyed the filter and tube it attached to and it actually was considerably faster like that.... I still have the AutoZone filter and it's on the intake tube that runs to a Rotrex supercharger.. Do a search for "DIY short ram intake" to see what can be done with a little time, ingenuity and less money.

If you use a 3" or even larger tube with a hose that is necked down to the size of the throttle body or even to the pipe leading to it you will have an increase in air flow velocity. I don't know if the GE cars would work well doing that because of the mass air flow sensor but it is something I have done on my GD and other cars and motorcycles that has seemed to throttle response at mid and high RPM. Auto Zone sells a filter made by Spectre that is also available at Amazon online that has conical shaped inlet into the intake pipe... I used one on my intake and now have it replacing the filter replacing the K&N filter that came with my supercharger kit.... It appears to have improved the power output over a flat bottom filter in both applications... I have a very experienced butt dyno that tells me it is running better with it and that is more important to me than a dyno graph that has figures I may or may not feel.

Has a Cold Air Intake ever been developed for the 07-08 Honda Fit? As I've been searching high and low, and sadly cannot find ANY information.
