Is there a demand for this part?

I was told if we can show enough demand to Ingalls Engineering they will start the R&D for a Engine Torque Damper . This product has been doing very well with some HIGH hp RSX's and EVO's. I think the Fit crowd can show some intrest. If you are into the idea shot an email off to Ingalls Engineering at Grant@Ingallseng.com. Also if you know of a friend that has a Fit in the Denver Colorado area and they would like to be involved with the R&D process have them email FOR SURE! Ingalls will give the owner that helps with R&D FREE PARTS!! Hope this thread gets responses.

Does 105 ft/lb of torque even need to be dampened?!

I know the Fit comes with new innovative hydraulic engine and transmission mounts that are revolutionary in dampening vibrations.

This part is used to control engine rock or front to back movement simliar (sp) to solid motor mounts without all of the hassle. Yes 105 ft/lb does need a damper. Torque gets multiplied through your drivetrain while the motor may only have 105 ft/lb there are far greater loads being applied to key engine and drivetrain parts. The damper is also great in smothing out shifts and harshness out of the drivetrain.

ingalls makes a nice dampener have seen them on many other cars, these however aren't for the faint of heart, it will introduce vibration into the car so if you are expecting your fit to stay quiet etc you don't want one of these. I haven't seen what our motor looks like under load, I'm going to go back and look at some dyno video's and decide if its needed.

Some of the more resent applications have way less vibration and noise introduced into the cabin of the car. I know Ingalls is adressing this issue with all Stiffys slated to be involved in the R&D process.

Well, I'd definitely be interested if one of these comes out. I could care less about the added noise, since I think the Fit's too quiet anyway.

How long would you need the car? I'd take a drive out for like a couple of days lol. Always wanted to take a crazy road trip (done a 24 hour drive but nothing like out to CO)

UPDATE: Ingalls has been contacted by one Fit owner in the Denver area. We will be bringing them in at the beginning of the year. We will be looking into camber adjustment, etd, and maybe chassis braces. All of these parts will have to go through about 3 months of R&D before they hit market. With Ingalls sticking to such strick R&D standards you will receive quality parts that do what they were designed to to.

Keep your eyes out. Also if anyone else would like to be involved in the R&D process please email me by the first of the year at

Grant@ingallseng.com

Thanks Guys
