Oil filters

I've been using Honda OEM filters and on top is enclosed with about 6 holes. I bought a couple of WIX and the whole top is opened. I assume oil would be able to rush in? Is it normal? Just not sure since i've only used honda brand and it looks different..

Its normal. honda and wix's are good filters. If you want a great oil filter look into amsoil, pure1, k&n, etc

I'm a Mobil 1 filter guy. Never had any issues on my years using them.
