Cat-Back exhaust

Want to do a cat-back with a good muffler BUT when I got my custom for my Accord I mistakenly went with Ractive mufflers: ugh!! They have a low tone but even with the windows closed and sound deadening mat over them the sound is unnerving!
I would like a good exhaust/muffler combo but not too loud. Many of the cars I see have mufflers a big as large coffee cans almost dragging on the pavement and funky sounding. I would really like to be able to hear them first but I guess that is asking too much.
I want something between the 'pissed off bumble bee' and the 'straight pipe sound' but the more I look I bet the more expensive they will get. The custom set I got for my Accord only cost $500... but I don't think that will happen again!
Any ideas out there?

I installed a tanabe conceptG axleback yesterday ( 15 min. install ). Go to tanabe.com they have sound bites from interior/exterior. I love it, its throaty but not obnoxious, It only cost $399.00. (P.S. Tanabe customer service is awesome)

Hello titefit

we're very happy to hear that you enjoy our exhaust system! It took some time to release, but we are happy to hear that you are enjoying the product.

We would love to hear your thoughts regarding any aspect of the system (good or bad) as this helps us maintain our high product quality and continue to make them better.

I had the Fujitsubo Wagolis axle back exhaust - it sounded nice but felt totally stock to me.

I now have the Fujitsubo Power Getter - yeah it's loud but I like it that way.
