I'm more of the "BUILT not bought" person and the "Horspower sells cars and Torque wins races. But again I respect each other's IMO.

. Doing a swap can be considered building the car if your doing the work yourself.

You can pick up a 2000 model year Miata for that price...yeah yeah. I know "BUT I LIKE MY FIT"...then enjoy it.
I love mine...sure I'll modify it and replace things here and there to personalize it...but there's a fine line between a car enthusiast and a crack addict...you just gotta know where to stop.

The point of modifying a vehicle is simple. You do it because your vehicle is an extension of who you are. Don't like the way your stock audio sounds? You go buy an aftermarket headunit. Suspension and body roll a little much for you? You lower it and add roll bars. Want a vehicle with a very high power-to-weight ratio, but hate the idea of forced induction or nitrous oxide? Then you swap a more powerful engine into a smaller car. As was pointed out, this is nothing new. The first guys out in California who figured out they could swap the higher output, and much sportier Acura components, including engines, into their ED and EF chassis Hondas, were the same ones breaking records and paving the way for vehicles like the Fit and my 06 Civic Si in the American market.
You don't have to understand why people swap engines, or why they even choose to modify cars. Just know that they do, and they're the "crack addicts" fueling and innovating throughout this industry while the rest of you play it safe due to...well...."logical" restraints. If this industry and this hobby is anything, it's for damn sure not "logical".

Yeah kinda what i was poking at. The L15 is not a race engine, it was not built to withstand internal modification.

ok man im reviving this thread cuz i think there are still broke dudes like me that wana go fast and will find a way with "alternative" setups. i think a b18 swap from a gsr would make these cars pretty fun to drive. i dont wana blow everyones doors off, but i think the auto-x possibilities would be sick.
WHY WONT THE B SERIES WORK?
