in florida we have 0 emission laws so it cant be illegal here. the only issues i see are the wiring that im sure someone can figure out and the fact that the b series sit with exhaust in front.

and a b series is way less than a k series and i believe smaller and less complicated

I just got out of having a 2004 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V, and the big thing for them is swapping the VQ35DE from a maxima/altima. It costs about 5k-7k depending on what you want, etc. So I would hope that swapping a K20/24 wouldnt cost that much.

My last concern is emissions. If someone were gonna buy a K20/24 would it be a USDM engine or JDM? Because then you have to buy all the emissions crap separately if you buy the JDM version. I just dont wanna worry about emissions.

lol dude i just sold my 03 spec v and got me a o8 fit!!!!!
hahaha
its sooooooo slow!!!!
for now. tho. but my spec was so damn torqy!!!! i was eating preludes, VW GLIs, new si's etc...
damn i do miss the torque and speed,
but my fit gives me the JDM BALLz!!!! LOL. jkjk
the lil sound of hahaha

so if you want to do a B16 or B18 swap to the Fit, where can you find a mount for it?

you're not going to find one... pretty sure if ANYONE has ever put a B-series in a Fit, even tho it's illegal, but maybe if they even put it in the fit and just had it as a track vehicle... the mounts were custom

check with the state laws. usually the engine has to be newer than the car and the engine has to be similar to the one that was originally in it and from the same brand. so cant put a small block chevy into a ford, no 1990 motor into a 2000 car, etc. some states dont care. some states do.

the b series wont work because they were reverse rotation motors. that means you would have to put the engine in backwards. thats why the headers and intakes are switched around when you compare b series to k series. i dont want to rain on your parade b/c i would like to hear solutions not problems but just to give you a heads up of the challenge ahead.

hobbes87, I dont want to rain on your parade. People are putting K series motors in to B series cars from the 90's and everything is the opposite.

Of course Has Sport does not make mounts for a B series to fit in to a Fit.

I think just keeping the l15 and putting a little money into is the best bang for your buck, cause the is light and you can take stuff out or go carbon fiber to make it even lighter!!, So the power to weight is really good, If you just do some simple thing like supercharger, lightweight pulley, exhaust, and maybe a cam or pistons and youll easily make 170 hp or more!, which like i said compared to the weight makes it competative. AND youll still have the heart of a fit, not an Si with a fit shell.

IMO the support for the L15 isnt there. Not only that the L15 was meant for economy and not performance. Its a single cam with economy vtec. For the amount of money it would take for the L15 to produce base k series power you could do a k swap with more potential.

Dude did you even read what i wrote? I wasnt saying lets get 250 hp outta the l15. POWER TO WEIGHT RATIO, Yes its an economy engine but it still has a little umph to it. So for way cheaper than a k20 swap you can have a fast little car AND STILL HAVE THE HEART OF A FIT instead of an Si.

And so what if the k20 has more potential, Yea 300 hp or more would be AWSOME, but also stupid, Thats way to much power for this car, there would be NO handling and NO traction. again goes back to POWER TO WEIGHT

Well correct me if Im wrong but did you not say you can take off parts to make the fit with an L15 lighter? You can do the same thing with a k. And you said do a supercharger pulley, cams, pistons blah blah blah. Dude a kwsc that will reach that 170 hp is $4500 b4 installation. Everything is power to weight ratio. You can do what ever you want but as far as Im concerned. Im just saying... to take the L15 to its max potential is like a base k in the car. But whatever floats your boat. I dont mind having a heart like a k20 cus its still a honda.

just because its newer doesnt always mean its better, you could get a 2001 Civic hatch and put in a H22 from a 94 Lude and make more power, or take a Foxbody mustang and put in a big block from the 70s to make more power. sometimes its just economical
