Oil Catch Can?

Has anyone install a catch can yet on their Fits? And if you have, mind posting up pictures for idea of location. TIA.

The internet is your friend. ;p

Oil Catch Tanks collect the oil, moisture and blow-by gas that causes carbon and sludge build-up in the intake system and engine to keep them clean even under the hardest driving conditions. An oil catch tank is also an excellent engine dress up item that will give your car a racing image

So you are by-passing the crankcase ventilation system? Not sure why you would want to do this on a highway car, and your local air quality folks may have issues with this at emissions testing time.

Why racecars have them, in the old days, cars had draft tubes (you guys are probably too young to see a car with those, pre 1967), fine on highways, but not on tracks.

But now with positive crankcase ventilation, you can burn the crankcase "funk".

A friend had these on his race cars 15-20 odd years ago, but he used 2.0l soda bottles. A lot cheaper, you can see when they are full and they are race proven!

How would you be bypassing the vent system if all a catch can is is a tank spliced into the line from the crankcase vent to the intake?

That would work, but do you think you're getting enough blow-by to need a catch can? A catch can might be necessary with a forced induction setup, but otherwise, I really doubt it will have much effect.

Never seen one like that, but that does make sense. The race ones I have seen are strait dump.

I know Blitz makes them, but I've seen ones from other companies as well.

Don't buy a Oil catch can, buy a Air mist separator... Less money, more efficiency.
