USDM Bumper

Well, I hit a block of wood on the highway last weekend

Tore up my radiator, a guard, threw the car seriously out of alignment, and of course the front bumper is damaged.

So... looking on the positive side, this is the perfect chance to look for an aftermarket bumper!

Does anyone have some suggestions on a USDM front bumper that will still look good without getting a full body kit?

well i did some searching and i came across this body kit. the price is almost too good to be true.

HondaFittuner.com :: Aero Styling :: Body Kits :: Full Body Kit :: Mugen Non Widebody Style (fits USDM HONDA FIT)

just wondering if anyone knows if the stock fog lamps will still fit with the front bumper. it also says that the rear reinforcement bar needs to be removed for the rear bumber to fit. thats a disadvantage for me since i have kids.

i know my first post asked about a bumper, but if anyone else knows of a similarly priced body kit, please let me know. i guess there just is not much available still for USDM?

Sorry to hear about the gigantic car toothpick!

The reinforcement bar I believe can be replaced with the JDM one.
So I think you would still put one there but it would be just slightly less robust. Or ditch it altogether, which indeed would be a bummer.

And from the example you linked to, I see no native spot on that particular bumper for the USDM original fogs. But I do see them fitted in some of the pics and at the top page of the site. You could probably make them fit though with varying degrees of difficulty depending on how you want them.

I think it's made from Fiber Glass? If it is,say hello to a new bumper, when you hit a good size hole and hit the road.Plus with Fiber Glass, there's usually alot of work to make it fit flush.I say stick to the factory bumper.

isnt the factory bumper made of fiberglass? in fact arent bumpers on most vehicles made from fiberglass these days?

Cheap kits use Fiberglass, Some use FRP. OEM is like ABS plastic/Urethane mix.

Here is some i was looking at I believe they are also Fiberglass though

07-08 Honda Fit Body Kits

Unfortunately most of the original nice kits are for the JDM and EDM model fits. Such as Ings, Fabolous, mugen etc... and are also very expensive.

I think Mugen does have an (authentic) kit for the fit USDM try King Motorsports.

I looked for a nice bodykit for my Fit(having been smashed in the rear bumper this week),but could not find a USDM bodykit that I thought look good. The only one I think's OK is the JP kit(Japanese Product),but you need to have a stock front end, because it's a lip spoiler.Good Luck on your search.

hmmm, non fiber glass body kits..thats a tough thing to find. you can always just get a lip kit or something. Unless youre set on the bumper idea.

are the fiberglass kits really so terrible anyway? i mean, if your body actually hits the road for whatever reason, you are pretty much screwed anyway right?

but, i do want to avoid the ghetto honda look that has the flimsy looking body kit that just kinda flaps around on the highway. my wife would probably kill me.

i've had friends who have had fiberglass body kits. As long as theyre from a legit company it should be fine. Just make sure you paint it so it doesnt have that ugly ricer look to it.
