gloss black or flat black?

Callin all MR fits: gloss black or flat black?

so thinking of doing the headlight mod and wanted to get some ppl input on which looks better, the flat blk or the gloss blk look for the headlight.. so give me some input to which to do thanks.

i think flat black looks better for the headlights and fog light housing

I'd say flat black, had a flat black headlights and it looks way better than gloss or even our OEM NHBP..

yeah i was thinking the flat,but a saw some oem ones (black) on a blue fit and looked good too

so i attempted this today with flat black, and not sure if something is up the the paint i bought but i got these rough areas in the middle of the headlight area that looks horrible, so does anyone know the best way to remove this paint???

Sand the area down with high grit sand paper. Try and touch the area up.
Same thing happened to my friends headlights. He just left it.

You couldnt tell.

had a question, how would flat black look after you put on a few coats of clear to protec the paint? how glossy would it come out?

Clear is going to make it look at least a little glossy no matter what. If you are only painting your headlights I wouldn't bother with clear just use a high temp flat if your worried about damage, I used engine bay paint. With the fog light housing surrounds you could use a flat clear (yes they do exist) but I didn't bother... Just use the same paint and spray it every few months if it really bothers you.

you actually spray a matte clear when painting a car matte black... we spray base coat black then a matte clear== matte black, spray base black then reg. clear ==high shine black.
