How many of you have scraped the front lip?
#22
I can honestly say that my drive is too steep that even the back of My Grand Carvan has scraped. Now, I used to drive my lowered civic and I did get lots of practice first few days. Now that I got the Fit, the first thing i did was check the angles and get familiar with it....so needless to say I have been cautious and have not scraped it.

I have not scrapped the bottom of my lip. I have driven a lowered car before so I have a idea of how to approach driveways and entryways. At most I have probable scrapped the air dam a bit. The worst I have done is, I was cruising on the free way and I spotted some debris in the road. I was in the far right lane and there were cars on my left so I had no where to go so I centered my car to go over it. It was sticking up a bit and dint think to much of it until I hit it, Whack and then scraping as it passed under my car it was a peace of metal. As soon as I got off the free way I took a look expecting the worst but all it did was leave a litte indent in the lip and dint take any paint so I was very releaved.
Now I scrape all the time.
What I dont get is how people scrape it at stock ride height?

As for parking at home, I have to reverse in at all times. That way I can just drive away at ease in the morning. I park in the lower half of our yard too. Reversing from our yard is bad new bears.

Your Fit is Dumped! so you are probably one of the few people that actually have a excuse as to why you scrap. I am a little curious as to how some of the people on here approach speed bumps, entry ways and dips and at what speed there doing this at? I have left a few places where Im pretty sure I have 3 wheeled it out of the exit ways, and have not scrapped.

Speedbumps.... I try not to hit them. If they dont have those holes in the middle or some at the sides my exhaust scrapes the whole time after the front tire gets over the bump. Normally, I go straight over it. Only time I go at angles are those speed humps. Those are hardcore to lips. :-/
Heres a few days after the coilover install. Yes my lip touched the bump.
Getting into this place I actually ripped my lip off. I just pulled it up against the bumper for the pic. Hehh
Now Im lower than that.

Already scratched on a road dip, I figure I'll put on some of that truck bed liner material instead of touching up and wincing everytime I see a speed bump or dip. That way if it ever scrapes again, I'll add some more liner material and be on my way.

Is that your base fit that's in your Sig? If it is I got to ask HOW did you scratch your bumper from a dip in the road? My car is lowered and I have never scraped my lip on a dip or bump in the road. I live in Minnesota where winter reaks havoc on our roads so there are plent of dips, bumps and pote holes to go around.
