HELP! Replica bumper fitment :(
hey guys, i test fitted my new bumper which turned out to be a replica bumper, so the fitting is pretty *** however i have found out that removing some possible key components to the car gives it a perfect fit, one of those is a kind of bracket that covers the radiators and the other is an air scoop(?)
would it matter with the air scoop as i'm gonna do an sri conversion
and
what substitutes are there for the bracket?

thanks alot
edit: more questions
you see the sag where the bumper is supposed to meet the bonnet, will it be sorted out once it's been fitted on properly?

For the brackets, I'm sure the body shop can custom fab it for you.
i suppose i could DIY it to make it fit in
yea, thats a reinforcement bar (re-bar) that metal that takes the impact on front end crashes, in the case of not having one, well jsut say good luck haha.
thats prolly a replica of a replica hence fitment is not 100%. its bound to happen anyway. id say take it to a pro, you will want it painted anyway.

i think they run much @ lower compression and cooler than VTEC L15
not 100% sure
oooh. i would not remove the crash bar. without that, you don't even have a bumper really, just the cosmetic shell that covers it. unless you're 100% sure you are never going to get into an accident involving the front end of your car (impossible for anybody to know), i would make it a priority to have a shop figure out a way to make it fit or modify it to fit.

Bottom line is that if it's a jdm bumper or replica of jdm bumper which most are, for the fits, you need a reinforcement bar.
If you remove the bumper (the iron frame im talking about, the bumper is the iron frame, the bumper cover is the fascia) and you get in a front end collision I can tell you that your car will be totaled, and either yes or no, your insurance will not cover it for anything at all. That front beam (the iron bumper) is basically the main part that is needed in an accident. Not only it absorbes most of the damage, it protects the engine components and keeps the damage from traveling throughout the car.
I advise you to keep it on and if at all possible trim it instead of removing it all together.
Removing that beam is like driving with a grape fruit behind your brake pedal.
Or at least call your insurance company to find out the specifics on that.
