t1r test pipe with otherwise stock exhaust?

So, my check engine light came on the day after i bought my used 2007 honda fit. Since im already considering modding the exhaust, it wasnt a huge deal when i took it to autozone and they told me it was a po420, since i thought i was gonna go catless anyway. a couple months after driving it, my fuel economy just got worse and worse, so i took it to the shop to make sure it was the cat and not just the o2 sensors. Since the fit is california emissions, it is going to cost me 1500 for just the part, and i only payed 4k for the car. So i ordered a test pipe, but i dont know how ear rapey its about be if i install it with otherwise completely stock exhaust. If i go with the test pipe, im going to get after marktet resonators and probably a muffler, so what are yall's recommendations with test pipes? because my fuel econ is around 20 mpg bc of the cat, i want to install the t1 first, but dont know if i should buy the rest of the components if its gonna be too loud or droney while im waiting for the rest of the parts. So what is yalls experience? (this my first post)

I mean you can install a test pipe... But you're not going to like the drivability of the car due test pipes tending to lean out the air fuel ratio as well as set the check engine light.

Add to that, finding test pipes like T1R's is spotty since a lot of GD parts are discontinued. So unless you stumble upon a used one, you're likely out of luck unless its a made to order ordeal.

With that said, Unequal Fabrication is fabbing up both test pipes and high flow replacement cats as well as other exhaust goods and even turbocharger kits.

I'm currently waiting for two high flow cats from him as there is about a 3 to 4 week wait time depending on his work load.

Its a bit old news (understandably, you may not have heard of it) but A&J Racing hindered their reputation some time ago with counterfeit J's Racing items. Which is why they no longer sell that brand in particular. Exhaust like one of their Dolphin Tip mufflers (canister style muffler with a turn down elbow) was being re-engineered/copied and sold as an authentic J's part even though it was clearly a counterfeit. One could easily tell the real from those copies due to the color of the exhaust tip, real would have a gradient "burn" effect to it and the counterfeit's exhaust tip would entirely be an anodized light blue.

As for looking at exhaust components, you must search specifically for the chassis Fit that you have as they will not cross over to other chassis. The secondary cat delete you linked is for a GE8 (second gen) Fit and CR-Z so it is NOT compatible with your Fit.

As for my exhaust...

On the blue Fit in my signature (build thread linked above it as well), the current configuration is T1R's response header (discontinued), Megan Racing's resonated test pipe (discontinued), Spoon Sport's B-Pipe and Spoon Sport's N1 axle back.

On my red daily beater GD, I have an Unequal Fabrication unequal length header, stock cat, DME B-pipe (discontinued), and Honda Factory Performance axle back (discontinued, Honda accessory muffler).
