Hissing/high pitched noise when I push the accelerator pedal.
Hey everyone,
I need some help/advice so I recently purchased a 2008 Honda Fit Sport with about 141,000 miles give it take. I took the car because I needed it and I drove it around for like 2 days smoothly not engaging vtec or anything crazy. Not until yesterday is when I noticed that whenever I reach 45mph+ in 5th gear I can hear a noise from the engine and it’s a high pitched but raspy. I’m really worried about the condition of my car and I want to know what exactly is the issue with my car but how will I know if I can’t diagnose it myself. Anyone have an idea or experienced the same thing as me?
*also if anyone has advice on what automotive mechanic I can reach-out to do an inspection with these issue could you lmk!
Test it to see if if it happens at a certain RPM. If it happens at that RPM when you accelerate and decelerate it is more than likely a loose heat shield. My fit has the same thing. It sucks to get to so I've just opted to ignore it.
