Hello everyone,
I recently bought a Honda Fit 2011 (5spd). The car is driving good but I believe the previous owner didn't maintain it well.
I really want to do the all in one maintenance and I need some good advices regarding the parts.
I am planning to do brakes, spark plugs, all fluids flush and if you have any other suggestions and advices, they are most welcome.
The car currently has 140K miles and bone stock. Please suggest any good performance parts or upgrade which I should get as I am planning to keep it long term.
Check your engine air filter, should be very easy to replace that if it's dirty. The Fit also has a cabin filter too.
For the transmission fluid, there should be a filter located somewhere under the battery. I think the recommendation is to replace that every 60k miles.
Under the car, take some time to look at the rubber boots on your lower control arm's ball joints, and the steering tie rod's boots. If they're starting to show signs of cracking/splitting, you should change those boots out soon. Check the CV joint boots too.
When doing spark plugs, you may want to do the valve lash adjustment at the same time.
For the serpentine belt, I don't think there is a specific mileage service interval. I use a flashlight for visual inspection, and look out for small cracks on the belt grooves.
Here are some more info related to inspecting the serpentine belt. (Also, the Fit's service manual can be found online should you want to look it up for reference).
