I love my white 2019 Honda Fit EX. But the paint is peeling from the roof! My Honda dealer said there was an extended paint warranty for some models but not for mine and, even worse, Honda seems to have taken back the extended warranty at least for some models. Distressing! Has anyone been successful in convincing Honda to pay for their repairs? It is going to cost me $3,500 to have Honda do it. I want to hold them responsible for what is clearly a defect. I saw that Canadians were successful in getting a Class Action settlement . . . hmmm.
My 2019 White Fit is peeling in the same spot. Your pic looks exactly like mine (just noticed it a couple weekls ago. Has yours gotten worse? Did you remedy it? I called Honda and they refused to help. Very disappointing. Good to know I'm not alone though.
It's not just Honda, a lot of manufacturers have problems with white paint. Not sure why, maybe it has something to do with white paint not baking correctly at the factory, who knows but it's not just a Honda thing. Also seems to be a crapshoot over which specific units are affected and which are not. I own a white Lexus GX and a white GE8, two cars that are prone to white paint issues and I'm completely aware that it's a roll of the dice. Find a decent small bodyshop that will repair just that section with a prep and blend. Don't let shops talk you into painting the whole thing. Since it's a roof it'll be even easier to blend the paint and not have visible paint color differences.
