FitFuture is Back!

Hi guys, its been a few years since I've posted here, I'm actually impressed that I remembered my username. . With a lot of help from this forum I bought my first Fit about 4 years ago. It was a 2016 White LX, that I actually went to New Jersey to pick up as they were hard to come by at the time where I live in South Florida. I bought it from a Honda dealer from a Nice salesman that used to post on here a lot named "HondaGeek".

My Fit, mechanically has been very good to me, no problems at all. I have 82,000 miles on it. The white paint, as I was warned about on this forum has not held up very well. I use it for work and have also put some dings and scratches on it too. I am looking to buy a new one. Does anyone know if the white paint holds up any better now than it did back in 2016? Also I was reading here that they might not be making the Fit any more in America, are there any updates on that? TIA!

One would assume that since they are aware of the problem with white paint that they have addressed the problem in their factories wither by putting the paint on thicker or improving the formulation. Unfortunately as far as I know Honda has said nothing about this so buying a white car might still be risky.

As far as the Fits future here.....nothing from Honda. There may be some clarity later this month when I believe the LA car show takes place.

I doubt you will have anyone with paint durability studies data comparing paints applied to cars manufactured in different years. For a consumer, it is impossible to make any such statement regarding paint durability that would not be pure speculation.

If you had some problems with paint, make sure you know how to care for the paint and protect it from UV and other damages.
