So stopped by this morning while wheel/tire buying. I have done the impossible? I put 215/45/17's on. Don't see a problem. Looks sweet. Like the 17's...Posted pics in an album under my name.

So how's your speedo with those tyres?

 

Because lower profile tire on the new 17", may not be much of overall radius difference - I will chk this. For clearance, width is what matters so wasn't worried about the growth of radius (but, true, would effect speedo slightly...). I shall calculate overall % change with 17" and this profile tire compared to stock and repost.

 

Overall diameter (radius) change is almost imperceptible. So no effect on speedo. Speaking in terms of radius, gain a 1/2" from rim, lose 1/2" from tire.

This forum had the same effect on me when I joined. Had my '08 GD since new and never added a significant mod (other than the factory mats and finally a set of used Husky just before handing the vehicle to our niece last July).

Am now way down into the same rabbit hole but am enjoying every moment of playing with the new toys.
