Never thought I'd own a Honda, but...

32 years out of college and just bought my 5th car (all manual trans). First one was a 1985 Mustang GT and at the time I was irritated by how the automotive press just fell over themselves praising the Hondas. So, I find it ironic that #5 is a '17 Honda Fit LX with MT... and I love it!

I did get 10 years and 165k thrilling miles out of that Mustang. The Fit is fun to drive, rather than thrilling, and I think with a Honda pedigree it should be up to the longevity challenge.

I do like getting value out of my cars...

Like I just did a 56 mile round trip pick up of one of my daughters and according to the dash computer I got 39.9 mpg without really trying too hard to conserve... how reliable is that dash calculator?

My first tank fill up was almost an exact match with the dash computer... can I expect that normally?

Welcome! Our '13 used Fit marks my return to the Honda brand, with the first being an '80 Accord LX 5-Speed bought new and kept for 200K Miles.

Talking

Welcome to the fold. We are a split Honda/Toyota family, but we both know deep down which is the better car.

obd is pretty close. if u drive below 65mph and on mostly hwy u can definitely do 42mpg easily on da fit. ive done it without trying too when i borrowed my wife's GK for a week. it was insane.
