I crashed my 2008 Corvette C6Z06 with about 640 hp (HCIE) on Christmas morning. Not doing anything crazy, my mom was driving behind me we were going to my sister's to open presents. Pretty sure it was a known traction control gremlin. I bought a 2001 Pontiac Firebird convertible off craiglslist a couple days before New Year's with 150K on the clock. Planned on it being a gift for my daughter who is not too interested in cars but had pointed out firebirds on several occasions. After doing brakes, shocks, springs, tie rod ends, ignition coils, plugs, wires, tune on that car, oil pressure started dipping. My mechanic did a compression and 3 of 6 cylinders had low compression (she still runs and gets 21 mpg). Anyhew, always had my eye on the Jazz/Fit and was impressed by a co-worker who would dog me around the roundabouts in Australia in his Jazz (me in my C5Z). Saw a 2017 EX six speed for sale on the repo page of my credit union with 13K miles. I got her for $15000. Drove her from Fort Walton Beach to Las Vegas (where I live) 33 mpg driving hard most of the way. 41 mpg driving just over the speed limit on the last day. Love.This.Car So far I've tinted all windows (ceramic on winshield), ordered the ABS plastic rear spoiler off Waltrizzle's web site ($68 how can you go wrong), HPS short ram, HKS silent power axle back exhaust, Koni 1125 1029 setup. I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on some sticky 205/50/16 tires. I'll be getting RPF1 15x8s and some slicks for the track. Thinking about the acuity shift bushings, U70A mount, buddy club shifter, and stereo upgrades. I love how 4 tires cost what one rear cost on my vette. Great platform!!! Cheers, d'Art
