Question Question about Headlights

Looking to get q new Fit, had a hard time finding one to test drive, and had to drive a bit to get to it, got home and realized I hadn't checked on this so figured I'd ask here...

Those of you who have Fits, when you have the headlights on, and stop the car and turn it off, is there any kind of warning beep or light? I ran the battery down on my old Civic a few times having turned on the lights on a rainy day and then forgotten they were on. My 2001 beetle however, buzzes when I open the door if I left the lights on.

So what about the Fit? I did not see any "headlight warning alarm" on the specs anywhere.

Thanks so much! Can't wait to get my new Fit!

Daytime running lights?

If the Fit has DRL's then you have noting to worry about. They will come on and shut off automatically. The Civic sedans have DRL's. I just don't know if the fit has DRL's or not.

Personally I HATE DRL's!

If you're getting a US honda fit, it has "Headlights-On Reminder" you can find it in the "comfort and convenience" section of the specifications. it makes this ding-ding sound to let you know your lights are still on.

edit: oh you're in florida, so your fit would have the same feature as mine. anyways, the answer to your question is Yes the fit has it too.

Dr. D,
Thanks so much! Don't know how I missed that, thought I read over everything with a fine tooth comb! Any-who, that's a relief! At least running down the battery from the headlights wont be a problem... heck, after my problematic Beetle, I'm sure my Fit will be a dream! Thanks again!

Not really. It would be luxury if the headlights turned on and off automatically via a light sensor. I think a toyota corolla has automatic lights...

Yea. I prefer manual than automatic. too many parts. I like things simple.

i think that feature is lame....there cant be/exist such lazy person who cant turn on a switch in their frickin steering wheel.
BTW i know manufacturers had a different point, but at the end, it tends to still be a stupid one.

It should shout at you once you removed your key... it won't say anything before that... if it still don't make a sound, it's time for a visit to your local honda dealer...

Open your car door, when your lights is on and key is out. I think the posters forgot to mention this.
