This doesn't sound true by your post.
Do you know of a place that sells just the glass?
If so, please share.
Many thanks,
You'd need to check with 4dr4life. 'm based in the UK and we seem to have a diffeent fog light. One seems to be easy to access and separate from the spoiler The other (mine) is fitted into the spoiler from behind. Because of the difficulty of access I have no idea what is involved in changing the glass on them.

For all I know doing anything on mine other than just replacing the bulb requires that the spoiler be removed..or at least the wheel and wheel arch internal cover.

I still doubt that you need new lights but I can imagine that you'd end up paying for one, maybe two hours labour.

Given that front fog lights are mostly useless and that I can hardly see the damage I don't intend to worry about it. Worst case scenario is that it might cause my car to fail it's MOT (standard road worthiness test in the UK) but I don't need to take one of those until the car is three years old. In any case I doubt if you can actually fail for having a damaged front fog light. A lot of cars don't have them at all.

Huh. looks like cracked fog lights aren't that uncommon.

BROKEN fog light lens questions

Does anybody know where i can find a single Sport Foglight without the painted surround, picked up a rock somewhere and cracked the glass. Honda is only listing the entire deal Left or Right, and there $146. Id rather just pick up the glass, and the housing, without the Painted Plastic Surround.

And its deffinatly getting some Lamin-x put on it afterwards, id suggest everybody else do this, even if its just the clear. The glass is so low on the car its gona be next to impossible to keep them from breaking.

Broken Fog Light

So I was wiping the front bumper today to clean off the bugs, (which I do about every other day) and I noticed that my driver's side fog light lens had a hole punched through it. There's bits of plastic lens still in the housing and the bottom edge is cracked. It must have been from a flying rock on the highway (I hate Detroit's numerous SUV's). Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knows how much it costs to replace the lens/light? It's not covered under the standard warranty right? If I there's a place that sells it online, I would be glad to install it myself (or attempt to install it).

sorry to hear that....there is a thread about fixing oem fog light somewhere...i believe it was Acurea RSX oem fogs...

for used/new part you could order online but they are very expensive..lol

anyway.. after you repair/install new/used fogs.. make sure you install protective filims for any future threat...

I was told the same thing. I still have the chuck that was cracked so I think I'm going to try to glue it back in and then get some lens covers.

I think he's talking about changing out the whole fog light housing. I found a replacement for $140 here.

Honda Automotive Parts

You can replace the housing yourself if you can turn a screwdriver. Don't let them bend you over and take your $100. $tealer$hips try and pull that crap all the time.

Does anyone make aftermarket replicas of the Fit fog lights yet? That might be another alternative. The fogs on my Accord are like $250 for the set, and the housings are $90 per side. I can get an eBay replica kit for $50 and get both sides.

i actually installed a replica foglight kit for an 06 civic. It was EXACTLY like plug and play like oem, i even followed the online directions for the oem kit and it wokred perfectly. the only difference was that whoever manufacturered the foglight kit made it so u can run the foglights without the headlights on so that was a cool bonus.

You can rewire the OEM fog lights to come on when you turn your parking lights on if you know what you're doing.

There are replica SETS on eBay right now (or there were?) for about $80.

Edit: $65.

eBay Motors: JDM OEM FOG LIGHTS LAMPS FOGLIGHTS FOR 06-07 HONDA FIT (item 300125399933 end time Jul-02-07 16:50:35 PDT)

HOWEVER.....

They are listed as OEM Honda JDM units, which may be a negative, as the USDM and JDM lights may not be the same as the US spec car has a different bumper. But, the car in the photo is a stock photo of a USDM car. Caveat emptor......

One screw, and the whole unit is out of the car, and two more screws and the light is out of the plastic housing.

As for $100, I will do it for a four pack of Samuel Smith's Nutbrown Ale if you are in the area.....

Anything that's not OEM is being passed off as JDM on eBay. That's good to hear there's a reasonable replacement for the fogs though. I bust a set of fog lights at least once a year since I'm kinda low.

I thought JDM = Japanese Domestic Market....am I missing something here? The listing also says OEM (orginal equipment manufacturer) ....sounds like false advertising to me?

Yes, these sets may be worth watching for that very reason, hoping they mount in the same.
