BROKEN FOG light lens questions and protections
Actually gutter guard about $4 at lowes for abot 12' and used heavy duty outdoor valcor strips $5 so they can be removed and cut or change. Driven 200 mile with them on the test will be in rain. I have a spool of wire that I can put through to strengthen. Also was going to try a lower bumper guard.
Used the yellow film from a guy on this site. $7 to cover my fogs. 17k miles later, tons of rock chips on my bumper and hood, 0 issues with my fogs and BOY are they yellow. Honda uses glass fogs, so some kind of protection is advised. $7 to protect $300... Pretty good deal imo
so i took my car in today to get the blower motor and resistor replaced and while i was there i asked about my fog light (it's cracked and has moisture in it). how much?
"$361 with labor. $267 for the lamp and the rest was labor. and oh, btw, your other one is cracked as well."
okay well i don't have that so i guess i won't get them fixed -- i don't use them anyhow.
"nope. your car won't pass inspection."
i wish i had seen this topic before on the forum so i could have protected my lights against this.
has anyone thought to write to honda america and complain about this since it seems like a common thing. i have a 2011 -- this thread was started in what 2008 or 2009 -- another on-going issue. is this how honda makes their money after the sale???
like someone else said, i bought a new car so i wouldn't have to deal with this kind of stuff for a while. already i've had to buy TWO tires, the blower motor was replaced today under a goodwill repair so i didn't have to pay for it -- but if they put in the same ampage motor as what they took out, will i be back again after awhile for another exchange (at my cost this time??).
i have loved the four other hondas i had, and i really liked this car, but now i'm beginning to wonder if i made the right choice ....
