what exactly is the white wire, and the black/yellow wire for? My headlights won't turn on and I think one of them is the culprit

yup. i use 2 5mm led's and a 330ohm resistor giving u 5000mcd of power on each led. That's bright enough to be seen from 500 feet away!!
