Installed Hids and took off dust covers?

Hi there, I just wanted to ask anyone who's installed hids in their fit if you guys all put back the dust covers over the new hids bulbs. I figured it didn't fit so I just left it off. Should I go back and cut the dust covers to fit? Let me know thanks

I kept mine on. I don't think you would want dirt and water/condensation in your headlights.

so did you just cut a slit in one of the lines to make it go in easier or did you cut it completely out. thanks

i let mine off and 2 f-ing bugs got inside the left headlight and decided to die there...
that does not include it fogs the inner part of the headlight sometimes when its cold...
when i have time, ill get the bugs off and put the dustcovers..they are important.

my hid kit had a little rubber disk attached to the wires of the bulb. i just pulled that rubber piece through the dust protector so it has a double seal now. that would not be fun to get water in your headlight housing. id take care of that before something goes wrong.
