True! It's not that bad...just a pain initially but once you get started it gets easier.

Love the base Fit look...just like mine but I got color matched mudguards.

Hello everyone! New guy here...

Awesome stuff! One quick question though: Smeister, how did you remove the bowls properly? I tried with a spare headlight and ended up damaging all the mounting points!!
Any tips?

Thank you!

I don't remove them actually.

As many Fit headlights as I've done, I either end up leaving the bowls in or breaking one of the tabs off and gluing it back on later.

So I guess i should NOT TRY TO REMOVE THE BOWLS! Right!?
:-)

When you say you break the tabs, these are those "columns" that support the bolts, right?!

If not breaking, what's the secret then? Drilling and then going around the bowl to access the washers and nuts?

As far as painting goes, I guess a bunch of masking tape will do the trick...

Yep, the columns. I usually snap the one that's best hidden on the GE lamps. I just don't even worry about it and shear it off instinctively.

I just did this and it worked out great except I messed up by cleaning the plastic lens on the inside because I got my finger prints on it and I have swirl marks and its now cloudy instead of clear. Can someone help me out?

Bump
Pictures don’t work anymore?!

Did you also remove the reflector bowl or no?
I tried doing that the other night and it just wouldn’t come off. The adjusting screw wouldn’t let go of it.
