Relay a MUST?

Hello, ive been looking in threads and havent notced if HID relay is a MUST for Plug and Play HIDs...

Reason why i ask, with my 09 Caliber, when installed HIDs, had very bad flickering and a noise from the ballasts. added a relay and it was fine... On my wifes new Fit Sport 09, she wants a HID kit... with the standard PnP kit work or is a relay a must in order to avoid any problems???

Can i get away without a relay kit?

Thank you for your time...

I don't know the Fit as well as some.

I'd personally add it, as the stock headlight wires are spaghetti-thin. The foglight wires are thicker!

Basically when in doubt run larger wires and a rely. Just be safe. Rewiring the car can be a major pita.

Relays are another form of protection from the stock parts. Remember though all relays must have a seperate fuse other wise the relays will be of no use. People who don't run relays with their HID kits must upgrade their stock fuse to 30amps so that the initial start up doesn't blow the stock 15amp fuse. With a relay you are just tapping into the on/off function while getting power directly from the battery.

I honestly know nothing about HOW HID kits work and ballasts, etc. etc.
But I have been surfing the FitFreak.net forums about them and it would seem that there has been an uproarious good word about the "Xenith Xenon" when using them with Fits.

I would look into those if I were you - before buying a kit for the wife.
I plan to when I'm shopping for HIDs, but like I said - I'm still very novice in that category.

Nope u shuldnt need a relay. Ive tried both regular hids with a single and bixenon hids and they both worked great without the relay kits. Just make sure u get a decent kit and dont touch anything and make sure everything is good and clean.

That red wire is kinda thin for running over 15A at times(?). What gauge are you using?
