JDM HID Headlights Question

Can anyone tell me what the purpose of these bars are and how it would affect the headlight if they were missing:

I believe that's the self leveling device. I am still trying to get the diagram for it because I wanted to get the hooked up too.

So, technically you don't really need them??

Sorry, I don't know what the self leveling system does.

correct me if i'm wrong, but don't you need the JDM front end for the headlights to fit, or did you already do that swap.
