DIY: Adding Brake Light inside Fog Light Section of JDM LED Tail Light
After almost 2 years, the Left LED that I bought from Amazon almost die and flickering...
I worry I will get ticket because not only it looks like I had a broken light, it also flickering (annoying for the car behind me)...
This time I want to buy a better one even though it is $50 a pair,
because it is a pain to take out all the hot glue that hold the light fitting and glue it back,
so I bought a new pair of LED from VLEDS,
RED PLATINUM 21 LED TURN SIGNAL BRAKE LIGHT BULBS 7443 7444 7440 | 1 PAIR
Notice the metal part is the heat sink:

Here how they package for shipment:

This is how the old glue:

Melting the old glue with my solder then use flat screwdriver to peel of the glue:

Old LED out:

Testing New LED before glue it to the housing, make sure it work,
and the polarity are correct otherwise it won't light up:

Left one installed, Notice how the VLED actually BRIGHTER than the Factory OEM Light !!!

Right one installed:

Hopefully this one last longer than 2 years

has anyone else tried this? i will be attempting this.
if i use a Non LED brake bulb, do i still need to use a diode?
also, does it get brighter when you step on the brakes? or it just stays at one brigthness?
thanks!
