Q's about iphone and ipod car plug ins

i have a i phone and was wondering if it's possible to use it like a ipod and plug it into the AUX outlet of our cars ?
will it charge the phone and at the same time play the music ?

It will play just like an IPOD but it will not charge.

ur gonna need a special adapter to use aux plug because the jack on the iphone is recessed. Best Buy sells an adapter for it and its cheap.
