Maximum mounting depth on Fit = 77mm

I have installed Focal Utopia 165w in the front doors on my Fit.
The mid has 75mm mounting depth. About 2.95 inches.

Yes it'll fit no problem without windows touching.
What you'll need to do is use 1" spacer, either MDF, or whatever you can come up with, then trim the plastic door trim panel all the way down flat where it covers the speaker. Some speakers have huge baskets and will need to trim the sheet metal in order to fit.

The real maximum mounting depth possible on the Honda Fit is 77mm, which means you can fit the Focal K2P without touching the windows.

It's not easy as it's going to take awhile to fit them properly but yes it'll fit!

Now I've read somewhere here that maximum depth is at 69mm but you can fit up to 77mm which is absolute max. That means you can fit almost any damn speaker out there.

Now if you have Mids that have large mounting depth AND over 6.75" mounting flange, It will NOT Fit without major modification. Do it at your own risk.

List of some 6 1/2 speakers that'll fit:

Dynaudio 240 GT, 242 GT version will fit. Regular Mk240 Will not FIT!

Any Focals will fit including the K2P.

New Alpine SPX Pros will fit.

Seas Lotus Reference, Performance will fit.

Most DLS 6 1/2 sets will fit including the iridiums.

Rainbow Pros will fit.

CDT M6 mids will barely fit. Mounting depth is no problem but the flange is 6.75 inch in diameter. CDT M6+ Will NOT fit.

Any diamond audio will fit.

Well you get the idea.

Hope that clears up the mounting depth on the fit. Now go get your favorite set of speakers!

yup 165 K2P's fit like a charm . The slightly larger basket size of european speakers does make it a little trickier to line it for clearance with the door panel though so be careful whe putting the door ppanels back on and use a light to check for clearances.

The rookie at the shop I work at just cracked 2 baskets on 165V2's in a civic door ebcause he mounted the speakers too low in holes.

Make sure you cover the sheet metal speaker hole with some sort of Non conductive material such as electrical tape just in case the speaker wire terminals doesn't get short it out by touching bare metal.

Example: if you use dynamat extreme that has aluminum front plating , and your speaker terminals + , - touches each other with the dynamat extreme your speakers will cut out, or short out. So be careful.

Best of luck! With some fabricating you can fit some 8" midbass drivers in there too.
