Radio wiring harness question

I received the radio wiring harness in the dash kit from Scosche (part # HA10B). The harness has the blue/white "remote turn on" lead. I thought that the remote turn on signal is supposed to be supplied by the HU...since it's supposed to go hot when the HU is turned on. So why is the lead in the harness? I don't see how it could toggle on and off with the HU if it's supplied by the Fit and not the HU.

I know I'm missing something. Could someone set me straight?

Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike, Other hondas like the civic Si Which has an amplifier use that same harness. You need to hook up the power antenna wire though. (solid blue) otherwise AM reception will be nil and FM wo't be o good either.

Thanks for the reply Donald. Okay, when I posted my message, I had just read the description of the color codes on the back of the bag the harness came in. But looking at the actual wires on the harness, the blue/white lead isn't really there. I guess the color codes on the bag is an "all inclusive" list of color codes. I also have the antenna adapter, and that bag has the same complete list even though there are only two leads (the antenna and the antenna power).

Now, taking an inventory of the actual wires on the harness, I see that there are some colors that are not mentioned in the color codes. Does anyone know what these colors mean?:
-Brown
-Orange/Black
-Orange/White
-Pink

Thanks,
-Mike

Bwon is cell phone mute.
Orange/black is negative dimmer
Orange/white is Positive dimer
Pink is VSS

Depending what head unit you have you might need one of the dimmer wires..the rest are not needed.

Anyone know what cell phone mute does? I don't think I hooked that one up when I installed my deck.

the cell phone mute is for aftermarket blue tooth kits and oldschool car phones. When you get an incoming call, it grounds the wire and mutes the head unit.

Interesting. So where's the other end of the cell phone mute connection in the Fit? I'm assuming it's not currently connected to anything coming out of the factory.

In my case, I don't currently need any of those mentioned, but I'm not going to remove them. I'll just tape them off.

Not used from the factory, and most aftermarket head units don't even have provisions for this anyhow, ince they all have their own plug in blue tooth kits.
