GE: Is Scosche harness wired incorrectly like the Metra harness

I have read that the Metra harness for the GE is wired incorrectly for remote turn on and dimmer, is this the same problem with the Scosche harness?

Sorry, I don't don't know the answer to that. But it does seem that there's a problem with the harness that Crutchfield shipped me, which I assume is a Metra (the plastic dash piece is Metra), as the display on my JVC-KDA815 does not dim with headlights on, even though it's soldered as Crutchfield instructed. I might have time to play around with it over the summer--does anyone know the correct way to solder the wires from an aftermarket HU to the Metra harness to make the dimmer work? Thanks in advance.

I have a metra harness. everything works as it's supposed to. remote turn on is fine as well as my pioneer deck dimming along with my headlight switch.

Sorry fitblitz, I never got around to figuring out how to correct the problem. I don’t listen to the radio, and so the poor reception doesn’t bother me enough to take things apart again, and I’ve learned to stick my half-open wallet in the storage bin under the JVC so that the top half blocks the bright light from the display when I’m driving at night. Maybe later in the summer I’ll find time to try fixing the problem. In the meantime, let us know if you learn anything.

Thanks for the information guys. The reason I bumped your thread is because I just finished wiring up the Metra harness to my HU and its going in the car tomorrow. I just wanted to know of any possible problems beforehand.
It sounds like the kit is good so I'll try it as is and update you guys when I install it.

oh man...that's not a solution. the antenna adapter has a blue wire that you're supposed to connect to the blue remote wire from the harness. that gives power to the car's amplified antenna so that your reception doesn't suffer. as far as your illumination, check to see if the deck's brightness goes down when you turn down the brightness with the knob in front of the tachometer. if everything is wired correctly that is how it should function. hope that helps.
