AT Short Shifter

Not sure if anyone has already done this for the fit but .... I cut off 2.5" on the automatic shifter and bought the after market automatic shift knob and now its looking sleek!
Basically the shifter has an outer tube and a plastic tube inside. Note that the plastic tube is the one that you push down if you want to shift (park-drive, neutral). Now, what i did is i cut of the outer tube (steel) by 2.5" using a pipe cutter. Note that you need to be careful not to cut the inner plastic tube. Once that is cut of you also need to cut of the inner plastic tube around the same height (used a saw to do this). Then insert the after market shift knob. The shift knob i bout has three bolts around it that is used to tighten it. Note that no drilling was done.
Again, do this at your own risk - Basic disclaimer: I will not be liable for any damage on your car nor this forum.
If you need pictures please PM me your email address and will send it to you. Sorry i dont know how to post so feel free to post the pics.

My 08 AT shift lever was too high so I got the 2009 one, I think it's a full inch shorter.
The only difficulty was ordering the 8 dollar plastic back piece that covers the screw on the 09 model. i got the blue stitch leather knob.

I have the stock '09 AT shift knob as well, but I don't think it's shorter. It looks more low profile, because it is all black whereas the '08 Sport AT shift knob has about an inch of chrime-painted plastic at the bottom.

The only thing i did is cut the outer pole. But make sure that you measure the inner pole and it should poke out the same distance from the outer pole.
I really dont know the price since it was just sent to me from asia. So it must me cheap. =)

Bumping for interest...
This is a mod I'm considering doing, but dang the choices are super-limited. I've only found 2-3 universal shifters that might work on the Fit, one is Razo and the other the Momo like jhoprodie5 has. Price isn't so much an issue as making sure of the proper fitment (no major modifications to make it work).
I also saw where someone else on the forum put the 09 GE auto shifter in his and it worked, but I'm not in love with the design on that one. I'm going for more of a luxury look on the interior so, I'm looking for either a leather/alum or leather/chrome shifter trigger style, but apparently their rare for automatics.
Anyone else know of some other aftermarket options? And has anyone tried the tsx one mentioned above yet? It has a leather boot on it so I'm not sure that one would work.

^^ I had a black one of those on my car for about a month. I dint realy like to way it looked and thought it even looked a bit tacky on a auto car so I switched to a 09 Auto knob and love it.
