Where do you mount your amplifier?

I wanted to put my amplifier somewhere where I can still have all the functionality & purpose of the fit's cargo room. I will not use a subwoofer btw. I'm just going to power all 4 speakers with it.

Where do you guys put it?

I HAD mine bolted to my back seat but eventually it fell off because the studs in the seat were to far apart for my specific amp. There's many places you can put it. Try bolting it up under the rear seat or to the side of the trunk.

I have mine on the back of the rear seats. Whether its best to use on the "double" seats or the "single" one is debatable. I was going to have it put on the single but then due to miscommunication it got mounted on the double. :P Haven't had any problems with it but I have a rear strut and it fits perfectly between the strut and the seat, offering more protection from the things in my boot. When the seats are folded down, I think as long as nothing overly heavy goes on the amp it should be ok.

I was going to see if it could be mounted under one of the seats as well, but that looked like a lot of trouble.

I've got mine on the back of the rear seat - drivers side. I was really hoping to slide it under a front seat or stash it down in the spare tire well for security purposes. But after spending a long time fooling around with it, couldn't find a solution that worked. The amp I'm using (eDesign NINe.4), just didn't fit well under anything.

These amps installed under the driver's side seat:

JLA HD600/4; (10-13/16"W x 2"H x 8-7/8"D); 4-channel

Alpine PDX-5; (10-3/16"W x 2-1/2"H x 8-3/8"D); 5-channel

There is a metal bar under the seat (going left-to-right) so u have to mount the amp so the bar doesn't hit the amp.

The JL amp was mounted too far forward so couldn't move the seat all the way back. The Alpine amp was mounted further back so the seat could move all the way back.

My friend got in and said, "Oh, look...a foot rest."

Yeah, I got the all-season mats too and pulled 'em out on the rear-driver's side. Another FitFreak member w/ the Alpine amp layed the all-season mats over the amp--good to hide it from prying eyes.

Here's what someone else did (mrwilli):

That's awesome, do you have larger pics? & more of it?

Do you just drill/screw it onto the mat itself?

That's pretty much all the pics I got. You can check this thread for more info (when I was also looking @ where to install my amp): https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/fit-...tml#post347929

Remove whatever mat you have & drill/screw (2 screws) the amp right through the factory carpet into the floor of the car. I had mine professionally installed though. They used a screw that just penetrated to the floor because the gas tank is below there too.

Lookin good man! Once I figure out which brand I'm going with for the doors (leaning towards focal's) I'll go from there on to amp selection. Would be nice to have something like that Alpine with like 5 channels built in - keep everything clean and simple...already have power and signal back there to my existing sub, I could probably figure the rest out from there. The bitch of it will be running wires to the door speakers!!

I put my alpine behind the single back seat. I was only going to power the speakers too but when thought about it a sub was needed. So got a 4 channel amp and powered the front speakers with it since thats where all your sound is anyways. Then used the other 2 channels for the 10 inch sub with a potted box. Sounds amazing and doesn't take up the whole trunk. That was my main concern. Still used the stock navi but had to install a hi/ok converter. The sound is amazing even with the stock speakers.

Only difference is I used a piece of plywood to strengthen the piece of shit 'floor' that is above the spare and then mounted the amp to the bottom that plywood. works great and you can chill on it with your girlfriend at the drive in movie without worrying about breaking or bending that crap.
