sub question

Well I'm picking up my 07 Fit next weekend if everything goes as planned. I really don't know anything about car audio, except I've heard that JL Audio is really good... I'm not looking for excessive bass, I just want my music to sound good. My cousin has a TSX and I like the way everything sounds in it, and I guess it has a small stock subwoofer. Anyone have any recommendations on what I should get?

I'm thinking about getting a 10" JL Audio W1V2

Thanks in advance,
kimdizzle

JL audio is a very well respected mainstream company. I would say that the W1 is a good bang for the buck.

I would consider this JL enclosure. It has an 8W3 in it and it's ported. Comes with a grille that isn't pictured. Very popular and you don't need a lot of power.

Another question: for the past week I haven't had any bass... Replaced fuses and they would blow immediately. Took it to the shop I got it installed at and they are telling me the amp is bad... How can I check to make sure they're not just trying to sell me a new amp??

Unhook the RCA's and speakers and power up the amp. If there is no load and the fuse still blows than you've got a bad amp. If it doesn't add the RCA's first. If it still doesn't blow than add the speaker wiring and speaker. If it blows when you add back a wire then it means you have a short somewhere. Either a break in the insulation or a screw through it.

As for the JL recommendation, great stuff. I've got one of the XD 5 channel amps and have owned JL stuff off and on since the mid 90's. Good products will come well recommended and offer a good warranty. Some other product lines may be an option, just make sure that you support your local specialty stores.
