Making the accessory socket always hot

Anyone know the easiest way to do this? I'm thinking a jumper in the underdash fuse box, but what to what? I don't want to have to turn the key to the accessory position for it to be hot. TIA. This would be on a GD3.

If you do it at the fuse block you could potentially put something else on constant. I would run some additional wires with a good source of constant power and tie into the OEM plug.

OEM plug

By OEM plug you mean the back of the accessory socket, right?

Yeah at the back of the socket. I would see if you can't use some sort of female spade connector on the back of the socket and just wire it to a constant power and ground. In the worst case I would find a socket in a junkyard and use the connector and do the same. That way you don't hack up the OEM connector.

Under the dash, in the main fuse box, there is a 5-pin socket with only 4 pins. This is called socket M. Pin 1, the top one, will be always hot when a fuse is installed into socket 20. I have a 20A fuse installed there. This is the second fuse socket from the top of the box. I have arrows marking these two locations. Neither one is used from the factory. I have a Hands Free link and a map light hooked up to pin 1 and I have the factory Garmin Nuvi nav system and the Hands Free Link hooked up to pin 3. Pin 3 is hot under Accessory and ON. The Hands Free Link (BlueTooth) needs an always on and Accessory for it to work.
