Best place to mount an amp?

Where did you guys mount your amps? Just curious where the best place to put one is. I have all weather floor mats so it wont fit under any of the seats.

Mine is wedged between the back seat and my sub. Thinking about putting it in the spare tire well. Anyone else have any ideas?

Mine is mounted to the sub box that is in the spare tire well. It stays out of sight and gives me all the room I need to haul goodies! I think that for most amps under the seats is going to be tight. You might be able to hide it behind one of the rear side panels.

Hmm... mine fits under the drivers side seat if I put it under the all-weather floor mat I have there. I might cut/alter the floor mat so it fits better.

I noticed the rear seats have a "hide-away" compartment on the underside of my GE8. i wonder if an Alpine PDX can be stuffed into them, one for a sub, one for component speakers.

thoughts?

not much room under the seats i used Velcro and placed my amp in the trunk on the floor. ran the wires through the plastic along the side of the car. it was really easy. In the trunk, there is plenty grounding spots and you will have plenty of wire since it is not a long distance from the head unit. The only downside is that everybody can see what you have I just need a cargo cover...

Depending on the size of the amp, the spare tire well is probably the best bet. Otherwise the back of the seat, or if it fits under the front seats try there.

Mine are currently mounted to the back of my back seats, however I am thinking about moving them to an amp rack that I will be mounting to the back of my enclosure. Well it could be the front depending on how you look at it. Anyway, The spare tire well is a nice idea but I don't know if both my amps would fit down there plus it's kinda like a tomb down there I would definitely put a couple fans to push/pull air in and out.

Spare tire well is where I put my (2) JL Amps, crossovers, distribution blocks and cap. All hidden away.

Do you happen to have a picture of your setup? I'm looking to upgrade my system and I need to keep all my trunk space. Basically I want the interior to look totally factory. Thanks!

I'm thinking of making a custom underside to the magic seat. The Pioneer amp I'm getting is a small digital amp, it fits perfectly between the supports for the magic seat. Thing is, it can't protrude any lower than the seat already is as the seat bottom touches the floor when the seat backs are folded down.

Also, has nobody mounted amps to the hatch door? Seems like the ideal place.

I'm a noob so this got placed in the wrong section

I started a thread in the wrong area but I had some pix on where I could try to mount possibly a Kicker PX200.1 to drive two 6.5 inch subs (almost an oxymoron - like Jumbo Shrimp . . .) in the rear doors, and the 4 x 75 watt Punch PBR300X4 amp to power a pair of separates in the front.

https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...ggestions.html

Anyone try mounting the amps under the REAR seats? I'd want to put a mesh cage to protect the amps in the event I lift the rear seats to go into 'Tall Mode'.

Thoughts?

the honda fit kinda has a body filler holding the panels together for the hatch and separates after time and gets water into the spare tire location also you might get a little moisture through screw holes driving around through a puddle yk
