For those of you who have done it I would like your expertise. The kit I got was on eBay and many Prius owns have gotten the same thing. There are two plugs coming from the camera itself. One plug has a plug for pos and neg to the reverse light. The other plug is for the video. But with that video plug has a power wire as well on both ends. Should I connect that with the reverse light as well? And what about at the other end where it goes to my head unit. I can plug the video to my PIoneer avh-6000dvd, but what about that power wire? Does that go to the reverse switch wire on the head unit? Or should I find the reverse wire some where.

 

i used to have a rear camera that had two sets of power cables. i'm guessing yours has a built in light? the other set of power leads is for the light itself. what i did was splice the camera power as well as the light power to one cable. i grounded it and got the power feed from the switched power from my head unit (i was running the video cable to rear anyway so it wasn't too much of a chore). hook up the reverse light wire from your head unit to the positive wire on your backup bulb and you're all set. good luck.

 

hi team, i have a new head unit i bought on ebay which works great but i cant figure out how to connect to the existing rear camera .. Can anyone please help?? i cant even find which existing wires are the rear camera
