Sun / Heat Shield available ???

Anyone know of a supplier/manufacturer of a fit specific front sun shield for the Fit? Presently I use Covercraft for my other cars. Unfortunately they don't have one for a Fit right now.

All I use is a piece of Reflectix foil insulation that sits over the dash. That
Grey almost black interior sure gets hot. Thankfully the steering wheel doesn't.

I'd mentioned in the thread on Cafe Press that I'd like to get a custom Fit shield, or at least one that we could decorate with stickers. I have a silver reflector, but it tends to slip.

I ended up getting a two-piece sun shield at GI Joes (they might only be in the NW?). $11.99, so not too bad. It's one of the folding, twisting ones that has wire around the edge. Each piece is 31"x38", so I use two overlapping and it covers the entire windshield VERY closely! Only annoying part is I keep forgetting how to fold it, so I look like an angry monkey in the car trying to figure it out

It's made by "Basix", and I had to get the "super jumbo" size so it would work in the Fit. Most of the shades are only 24" to 27" tall, and the Fit windshield is about 32" tall.

This is exactly what it looks like:

Got the same kind as Packy (got it at my local auto parts shop)... easy to stow since it folds down to about the size of a frisbee. Doesn't work as good as the heatshield product since the material is only reflective and does not have any insulation value... but the heatshield product (which I had in my last car) has a much bigger footprint when folded so stowing is a bit more awkward.

^ Nice! I found it easily slips into the pocked on the back side of the passenger seat. The one we got has a black side, which makes it less visible when it's poking out of the pocket.

It seemed to keep the car pretty cool. Like you said, there isn't any insulation, but I've found that the insulated (folding) shields tend to let the hot air run up the folds and right into the car anyway. I would think that the closer you can get the shield to the windshield, the less time the light will have to heat the air.
