Need some help, could you guys pin point whats the closest location to tap a reverse gear signal for rear view camera activation.
Best case anyone would know wire color.
Haven't started looking at the diagrams yet, if there is a wire by the shifter, which would make a lot of sense.

 

I for one gave up looking at diagrams and ended up testing all the connectors in the radio harness. What worked for me was the green wire in the 8pin connector in the harness of my GE8 FS with factory nav.
Initially I connected it to #5 fuse (brake lights) but all my Pioneer HU did was to stay on a black screen saying "Screen image might appear reversed" and switching the polarity of the camera simply gave me back the HU but still no camera activation.
If you want to be certain, just grab a multimeter and test the pin with your car running. It should give out 0 volts in any gear other than reverse and 12 (around 14 really) on reverse.

 

Thanks for the reply. I emded up tapping fro the back lights them selves as the aftermarket cameras video feed wire had another wore built into it. Figured it was for the reverse indication. Hooked up. HU switches to camera when in reverse but cant get any video feed. Screen is black. Not sure if its the wire or camera.. will have to bug it out someday soon
